On the boat
Before the first of your two dives with an instructor you learn the hand signals, how to equalise your ears and what to do if anything feels uncomfortable. The instructor stays close and decides the depth. Between dives you warm up in the sun and have lunch, often the moment first-timers enjoy most as they compare what they saw. Minimum age is 12.
Visibility along the rocky parts of the coast is usually excellent in summer, so even a shallow beginner dive shows plenty of fish.
