What to Bring on a Boat Tour in Antalya: The Complete Checklist

Tour boat anchored at a swim stop on a boat tour

Packing for a boat tour is easy once you know what really matters. After 25 years of welcoming guests on board, our crew has seen it all: forgotten swimsuits, sunburned shoulders and phones that went swimming. This checklist covers what to bring on a boat tour in Antalya, what to leave at the hotel and what is already included in your day.

What is already included in your boat trip

Before you pack, it helps to know what you don't need to bring:

  • Hotel transfer: our group tours include round-trip transfers in air-conditioned vehicles from almost all resort areas between Kemer/Tekirova and Belek/Boğazkent.
  • Lunch: the Pirate, Alibaba Deluxe, Suluada and Porto Ceneviz tours include lunch, either an open buffet or a freshly cooked meal on board. For the details of each tour, check the tour page or ask us.
  • Life jackets: life jackets are on board.

For anything else, such as child prices or extras, just ask us before booking.

What to bring on a boat tour: the essential checklist

  • Swimwear (wear it under your clothes to save time)
  • A towel
  • Sunscreen, ideally reef-safe
  • Sunglasses
  • A sun hat or cap
  • A light shirt or cover-up for the shoulders
  • A waterproof pouch for your phone
  • Some cash for extras on board
  • A dry change of clothes for the ride back
  • A small bag to keep everything together
  • Water shoes or sandals that can get wet
  • Any personal medication you need

Sun protection: the most important item

On the water, the sea breeze makes the sun feel gentler than it really is. In July and August, air temperatures in Antalya typically reach around 34 °C, and the reflection off the water adds even more exposure. Apply sunscreen before you leave the hotel, reapply after every swim and cover up during the middle of the day. There are shaded deck areas, so take a break in the shade now and then. A hat and a light long-sleeved top make a huge difference, especially for children.

Clothes: keep it light and simple

Think beach day, not city day. Shorts, a T-shirt or a summer dress over your swimwear works perfectly. Bring one dry set of clothes for the journey home, because sitting in a wet swimsuit in an air-conditioned vehicle is no fun. In the shoulder months, such as April, May, October and November, a light jumper or windbreaker is a good idea for the morning and the ride back. Our month-by-month guide explains what weather to expect.

Phone and camera protection: use a waterproof pouch

You will want photos, especially of the Düden waterfall, where the spray creates rainbows on sunny days. Spray and splashes are part of the fun, so we always recommend a waterproof phone pouch. Keep cameras in a bag when you are not using them, and never take a phone into the water without protection. More photo tips are in our post on the Düden waterfall from the sea.

Money on board

Lunch is included on the tours mentioned above, but it is handy to carry a little cash for drinks or extras. Please ask us in advance about what is available on your boat and how you can pay. Leave larger amounts and cards you don't need in your hotel safe.

A quick note on timing

Pack the night before. Our guide confirms your pickup time the evening before by WhatsApp, and the vehicle waits only a few minutes, so having your bag ready means a calm start instead of a rushed one. Put sunscreen on before you walk out of the hotel door.

What not to bring on a boat trip

  • Valuables and jewellery: rings and chains are easily lost while swimming.
  • Large amounts of cash or all your cards: keep them in the hotel safe.
  • Bulky luggage: space on deck is shared, so one small bag per person is ideal.
  • Expensive shoes: they will get wet or sandy.
  • Glass bottles: they break easily on a moving deck.

Boat tour packing list for families

If you are travelling with children, add swim nappies, spare clothes, snacks and a hat for each child. Our full guide to boat tours with kids covers safety, the foam party and seasickness.

Packing for long days like Suluada

The Suluada island tour is a full day of about 10–11 hours, with pickups from as early as 06:30, depending on your area. Pack a little extra: more sunscreen, a second towel, an extra layer for the early morning and something to do on the drive to Adrasan.
